FERTILITY REFLEXOLOGY

Stress and Infertility

The term ‘infertility’ is used when conception has not occurred after 12 months of regularly trying for a baby. You may have had tests which show that there is nothing wrong with either you or your partner and you have therefore been diagnosed with the common finding of ‘unexplained fertility’. You may even have had your first child but are finding it much more difficult to fall pregnant this time around. Or perhaps you have a diagnosed medical condition such as endometriosis, PCOS, low ovarian reserve, blocked fallopian tubes which may be affecting your chances of conception.

Many different factors affect the ability to conceive but this is more likely to happen if both you and your partner are in optimum health. Female age is especially important in consideration for the chances of a healthy conception, however there are many other factors which could contribute to fertility problems including your well-being.

Reflexology works on a physical and emotional level

On a physical level…..

  • relieves congestion in various organs and glands of the body encouraging all systems to function efficiently.
  • enhancing the body’s own natural healing abilities
  • assisting the elimination of toxins from the body

On an emotional level…..

  • relieves stress and tension so you feel calmer, positive and able to cope

Modern Stress
The stresses and strains of modern life that people have to deal with can have a significant impact on health and fertility. Once the body is locked into prolonged stress, the body’s organs and systems are affected.

During a session, I help you to realise that certain behaviours, such as long working hours, may be adding to your fertility problems and help you to avoid the negative influences. I may suggest alternations in your life-style and diet in order to achieve optimum well-being.

The anxiety and upset over fertility issues can cause a huge amount of stress. You can be caught in a cycle of expectation and disappointment, leading to feelings of despair and exhaustion. We will look at coping with these challenges, coping with others and trying to maintain a happy relationship.

IVF
Starting a course of IVF or any assisted conception treatment can be extremely difficult which can cause much heartache and stress. A course of Reflexology treatments commencing before and continuing throughout the IVF process can be very beneficial in helping you feel less stressed, sending you into a feeling of deep relaxation and leaving you able to cope better.

Hormonal Imbalances
The correct interactions between hormones are essential for the health and fertility of men and women. By following advise related to lifestyle and nutrition, you could achieve hormonal balance. Reflexology may also have a positive effect on balancing hormone levels. By focussing on 3 key reflexes related to imbalance, the pituitary, the thyroid and the adrenals could assist in the efficient functioning of these glands. Many women have reported a return of their menstrual cycle.
